Star Wars – nothing but Star Wars – except for the previews (And Gilmore Girls). The Guardians of the Geekery joined together to experience The Force Awakens on Sunday, December 19th. Then we hurried back to Geek Gala HQ to talk about it – as only we can.

Episode 53! Starneslord, Carol the Cat and the Giddygeeker headed to Atomacon in Charleston, SC and were able to host 3 podcasts while we were there! And last but not least, we were honored to meet with Podcasting’s very own Rich Sigfrit!

A little bit about Rich (taken from her one of his convention biography pages):

To say that I enjoy podcasting and new media would be a gross understatement. My credits include mentions in high school and collegiate papers, newspapers, Podcasting for Dummies, and Advanced Podcasting Tricks. I have been called an innovator, having created the first fandom podcast (RotO), the first podcast for an Independent Wrestling Federation (Halo: Hardwired), and distributed the first comic book made available via podcast feed (Podcast 9). I was the force behind the official Troma Podcast and a former host/editor of the 501stCast, the official podcast of the 501st Stormtrooper Legion. I have been a contributing editor for both online and print magazines. Along with Davey Beauchamp, I co-wrote the Amazing Pulp Adventures Radio Show, Starring Mister Adventure Script Book. Along with his writing talents, Davey and I have been doing Mister Adventure via podcast and live on stage for the past five years.

I have also done commercial voice work as the voice of CRASH and SWE Wrestling, Volaris phone systems, Howards RV and Fit Family NC (also providing puppetering). I have MCed numerous events at various cons and am the host of Thinkin’ While You’re Drinkin’, a traveling trivia company. Between the podcasts, requested voices from other shows, and being a father of three, various audio sketches and dramas have been heard on ChronoRadio, Star Wars and Beyond, SwitchedOn Show, the Geeklabel Podcast and Dragon Pages’ Wingin’ It syndicated show, (plus countless guest appearances on other shows) of which I am very proud. Currently, I am the media consultant for GOUGE pro Wrestling and the voice of Nerd-Vana, RTP’s only Nerd/Geek themed Burlesque/Variety show.

In my spare time, I sleep.

Misty Massey is the author of Mad Kestrel series (Tor Books), a rollicking adventure of magic on the high seas which was nominated for the 2010 SCASL Book Award. Misty is one of the featured writers on the Magical Words.net blog, along with David B Coe, Faith Hunter, A J Hartley and Stuart Jaffe. When she’s not writing, she studies Middle Eastern dance. Misty’s short fiction has recently appeared in the Rum and Runestones anthology (Dragon Moon Press) and the Dragon’s Lure anthology (Dark Quest Books).
